EAST STROUDSBURG – State police have charged Laura Gruver, 22, of Bethlehem, with making a false report after she lied about being sexually assaulted near an East Stroudsburg University parking lot on August 13.

She admitted the lie and said she was having personal and academic problems in a follow-up interview with police. A citation will be mailed to Gruver, a former ESU student. She will have to appear in court next month.
