Mr. Robert F. Loughnane

Loughnane RobertMr. Robert F. Loughnane of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Mill Rift, Pa., died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at North Side Hospital in St. Petersburg.  He was 80.

He was born April 18, 1929 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late John and the late Eva Meyer Loughnane.

He married Helen ‘’Evelyn’’ Fitzgerald 59 years ago on July 15, 1950 in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He was a member of Holy Family R.C. Church, Mill Rift where he was a lector and a member of Holy Family R.C. Church, St. Petersburg, where he was a Eucharistic minister. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council in St. Petersburg.

Bob was the president of the UATAN, St. Petersburg.

Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a corporal during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife Helen ”Evelyn” Loughnane; son Robert J. Loughnane and his wife Laraine of Brooklyn, N.Y.; son James P. Loughnane and his wife Violetta          of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter Christine Most and her husband Charles of Clinton, N.J.; daughter Regina Flecha and her husband Angel of New York, N.Y.; sister Evelyn Piccarelli of Port Jervis, N.Y.; sister Veronica Pierce of Schylerville, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren: Daniel Flecha, Christine Betaneli, Colin Most, Allison Most, Michael Loughnane, Catherine Loughnane, Erin Loughnane, Jaclyn Loughnane, Diana Loughnane and Andrew Loughnane; also several nieces and nephews

He was predeceased  by his brother, John Loughnane.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 15 with a prayer at the funeral home followed by mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 307 Ave. F., Matamoras, Pa. with Rev. August A. Ricciardi officiating.

Burial with military honors was at Mill Rift Cemetery.
