LACKAWAXEN TOWNSHIP – Lackawaxen Township’s $2.5 million budget is in and supervisors are happy with it.
According to Lackawaxen Township Supervisor Rich Krochta, taxes will increase next year by .25 mils for the township and .50 mils for the fire department. He explained that these are planned incremental increases that are factored in budget planning way in advance in order to avoid years where taxes have to be raised considerably.
“Our budget balances out with these small increases. Liquid fuels revenues are way down as are transfer taxes. With this small tax increase we will once again operate in the black,” said Krochta.
The Lackawaxen Township budget is available for public review during regular business hours at their Route 590 township office in Lackawaxen.
