HUGUENOT, N.Y. – On Monday night, the Deerpark Town Board unanimously voted to appoint David M. Dean of Sparrowbush to the vacant council seat on the board. Dean fills the seat of Karl A. Brabenec, who became the town’s supervisor in January. The appointment is to fill one year of the unexpired term. There will be a special election in November to fill the remaining year of the four year term.

“I’m very excited and honored at the opportunity to serve the residents of Deerpark in this new capacity,” said Dean. “It is a breath of fresh air to work with this fine team of individuals on the board as we look to make positive changes in the town.”

Dean has served 12 years on the town’s planning board and is a local business owner. He is married to Michele Dean and has two children.
