Little Lambs Make Coats Of Many Colors

The children of Saint Mary’s Little Lambs Early Childhood Learning Center in Port Jervis recently learned the Genesis story of Joseph and his coat of many colors.  After hearing the story, children in Miss Eileen’s class created their own colorful coats.

Podium Painters

MILFORD – These news podiums were painted by the three of us for our DVE-TV show.  We felt that the podiums needed a facelift, so we gave them one.  The podiums are used daily on our school’s television news broadcast which airs throughout Delaware Valley Elementary School each morning.  After we write our stories, we place them on the podiums and read them live in front of all the students and staff. Friends Of The Children’s Room Winter Wonderland Was Wonderful

MILFORD — On Sunday February 28 the Friends of the Children’s Room (FCR) of Pike County Public Library (PCPL) sponsored a “Winter Wonderland” for elementary school aged students at the First Presbyterian Church of Milford.

The FCR couldn’t have planned a more perfect weekend for a winter weather themed program.  After days of what seemed like non-stop snowfall and three consecutive days of school being closed, kids couldn’t wait to get out of the house and have some fun!  Event organizers joked that when they first planned the event they considered including outdoor snow play but worried that there might not be any on the ground!

While there was plenty of snow on the ground, the kids did stay inside and made some “snow” of their own!  Arts and crafts activities included: paper snowflakes, snowflake ornaments, and edible snowmen.  The children also listened to stories about snowmen and penguins, played “Snowman Says,” (like Simon Says) and enjoyed a snack of cookies and hot chocolate.

The FCR would like to thank the First Presbyterian Church of Milford for donating the use of their facility for this event.

Fishing Season Is Coming

Franklin Shadler, a kindergartner in Mrs. Diana Kudrich’s class, is wearing his fishing hat to celebrate Hat Day at Delaware Valley Elementary School.  The school’s Student Council sponsors all sorts of fun events that students throughout the school are able to participate in.  Hat Day was held on Tuesday, March 9.

DVMS Super Spellers

Dog Day At SES

Dawn Buzzelli’s kindergarten class at ASK Elementary School enjoys the dog hats given to them by guest readers Liz and Matt Witherow. Liz Witherow read the class Harry, the Dirty Dog and all of the students wore the hats while enjoying a great story.

Cheerleader Casey Steinhart

MILFORD – I, Amanda Brown, was honored to interview Casey Steinhart, a cheerleader for Delaware Valley High School.  I am a sixth grade reporter for DVE-News and DVE-TV at Delaware Valley Elementary School.

Casey’s team has been practicing for the much anticipated cheerleader competitions.  Their theme is Together As One.  The coach picks a word to describe the cheerleader.  Casey’s word is Spirit.  Casey told us that her team was also trying to raise money to go to Nationals.  It was a pleasure interviewing Casey Steinhart.

Busy Breakfast

Third graders at ASK recently enjoyed listening to the story “Oh, Say Can You Say” by Dr. Seuss on the school-wide pajama day.  Afterwards they loved making “Flapper Jack’s Flap Jacks” which is a peanut butter and banana pancake recipe inspired by the story.  Pictured are some of the hard working chefs:  Anthony Malvasi, Julia Huston, Adrienne Karr, Sabrina Bishara and Jessie Irelan.

Breakfast With The Easter Bunny

MILFORD – The Ann Street School will be hosting “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” on Saturday, March 27.  A delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausage will be served. Seating times for the breakfast will be 8:30, 9:30, and 10:30a.m.  The cost for children is $4 and $5 for adults.  Pictures with the Easter Bunny will also be offered for $3.  The Ann Street School is located in the Milford United Methodist Church, 206 East Ann Street, Milford, PA.

All proceeds will benefit The Ann Street School, Eileen Carmody, Scholarship Fund.  The Ann Street School is a PA Keystone STAR 3 site providing affordable, high quality Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool programs to the community for the past 25 years.
